Tournament Instructions for Coaches
Coaches -------
Teams traveling to any US Youth Soccer or Soccer Rhode Island tournament must travel with the following for their SRI medical and liability insurance to be in effect:
- A roster printed from the Soccer Rhode Island database signed by your association and Soccer Rhode Island. Either a league roster (you can cross off players not attending the tournament) OR a Tournament Roster (when adding players not listed on your league roster).
- eTravel is required for all travel except for:
- League Games
- Soccer-RI Festival
- Soccer-RI Cup
- RI Championships
- Kohl's American Cup
- Region 1 Championships
- US Youth Soccer National Championships
- Medical Release/Liability forms signed by parent and child (Usually found on tournament web site).
- Patches if it is a patch tourney.
If a tournament tells you they don’t require permission to travel all that means is that you don’t need to show them your approved travel form. You must complete an eTravel for your team to attend the tournament with Soccer Rhode Island’s medical and liability insurance. See below for form location.
All tournaments sanctioned by Soccer Rhode Island or any other US Youth Soccer State Association agrees as part of their hosting agreement to do credentials check for each team. A certified roster is one element of the credentials for all Soccer Rhode Island teams.
Temporary Releases
When is a Temporary Release required?
The US Youth Soccer, Policy on Players and Playing Rules definition of a Guest Player, Section 3 (5) “guest player” means a registered player participating in a competition for a team to which the player is not rostered for purposes of league play.
Therefore any player who is not on a team’s league roster is guest player. Soccer Rhode Island requires all guest players who are not members of the Tournament Team’s Association/Club to provide a Temporary Release with the Tournament Roster.
eTravel forms and Temporary Release forms are available on the Soccer RI website at http://www.soccer-ri.com/Forms___Policies/forms.htm
